Sanctuary Chief's Camp

Okavango Delta, Botswana

Nestled amidst the luscious floodplains in Moremi Game Reserve’s iconic Chief’s Island, Sanctuary Chief’s Camp evokes a contemporary yet rustic charm. We are always in awe of the way this lodge makes you feel like royalty, as well as the phenomenal views.

The 10 bush pavilions are spacious and modern, offering some of the biggest rooms in the delta, as well as a scenic decking area fit with an outdoor bathtub and opulent plunge pool. Despite being contemporary, the pavilions still have that classic safari vibe. There is also the Geoffrey Kent Luxury Suite featuring a kitchen, lounge, dining room, two bedrooms, and a private boma. Ideal for large families, this suite even has a private chef, vehicle and ranger for a truly exclusive stay.

With an air of sophistication and a charming country-farmhouse vibe, the outdoor and indoor lounge areas are perfect for watching wildlife graze along the floodplains, whilst the pizza deck is brilliant should you fancy a casual al fresco meal. After a day of excursions, be sure to rejuvenate by the main pool, or toast to a great day around the small campfire.

The lodge offers plenty of ways to see the delta’s impressive wildlife. Our favourite is the mokoro safari – though seasonal, should you visit during the delta’s floods you’ll love cruising along the river close-by to incredible hippo and elephant.
