Kenya Great Rift Valley & Mara Safari

From the serene relaxation of one of the most beautiful lakes in Kenya to the thrill and adrenaline rush of a safari in the world renowned Masai Mara, this is one of our favourite combination itineraries that we offer.

Nairobi

On arrival in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to your first night’s accommodation at the Four Points by Sheraton.  Conveniently located just five minutes from the airport terminal, you are sure to get a great nights’ sleep before you exciting adventure begins.

Great Rift Valley

After a restful night in Nairobi you will be collected and enjoy a two-hour drive through the stunning Great Rift Valley. We love this drive as there is so much to keep you entertained.  The plains here are rich with wildlife, the lakes are home to fantastic birdlife and the mountains provide a dramatic backdrop. In what feels like the twinkle of an eye you will arrive at your beautiful accommodation for the next 2 nights, Loldia House. With its prime position on the shores of Lake Naivasha, where you can enjoy the most dazzling views of the dormant Mount Longonot volcano and the immense sprawling land, you will feel yourself relax and unwind from the moment you arrive.

Over the next couple of days you can choose to spend some time on the farm while enjoying the prolific bird-life on the lake and shore, have some relaxing time in the infinity swimming pool or take a trip to dazzling Lake Nakuru, famous for its abundance of water birds, large numbers of rhino and there is also the chance of spotting a leopard.

Masai Mara

After a very short flight you will arrive into the Masai Mara. As soon as you land you will be on a thrilling game drive.  The Masai Mara holds excitement at every turn.  This is one of the best places for game viewing and you will have three nights to enjoy it so cameras at the ready!  During the next few days you will have the chance to experience a different type of game drive, gliding across the Mara in a hot air balloon.  This is at an additional cost but we think it is worth every penny.  The silence as you float across this wild expanse as the sun rises and you watch animals waking at the beginning of another day – it really doesn’t get any better than that! And just when you think it can’t get any better, your flight is then complimented by a champagne breakfast in the heart of the bush!

With their prime position and 37 very comfortable tents, we think you will love Governors’ Camp.  With the offer of three game drives a day in their extremely well equipped 4x4 vehicles, as well as walking safaris, you will have plenty to keep you occupied, but if you want some down time then the camp is a great place to just relax.  And at night the camp fire is a fantastic place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink under the African stars before enjoying some scrumptious African cuisine.

For guests who would like a little more intimacy, Little Governors’ with just 17 luxury tents is a short boat ride across the Mara River from main camp. And for that extra bit of luxury, IL Moran with just 10 stunning tents adorned with dark chunky wood and large comfortable sofas. Ideal for couples and honeymooners.

For those wanting to add on a beach extension, the direct flight down to the long sandy beaches of Mombasa makes this a superb option.
