Little Governors' Camp
Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya
From the calm boat ride across the Mara River to the escorted walk through verdant riverine forest, arriving at Little Governors’ Camp is an adventure in itself. Tucked around a wildlife abundant waterhole, our stays here are always full of unique, unforgettable moments.
There are 17 en-suite tents altogether, all intimately secluded and offering simplistic décor clearly inspired by the camp’s natural surroundings. The wooden floor and tiled bathroom give a more luxurious element to these simple tents. We love the private wooden outdoor deck that overlooks the plains, offering incredible wildlife sightings from the comfort of your bed.
When you venture to the open-air dining tent you’ll be sure to meet the resident warthogs who regularly saunter through the camp, and lunch times are usually greeted with inquisitive elephants searching for food. A stay here really does immerse you into the wilderness.
After a day of exploring the phenomenal Masai Mara National Reserve, be sure to park yourself in front of the roaring log fire and swap amazing moments with other excitable safari goers. There’s nothing better than spending an evening under the stars.
This is the perfect place for a balloon ride – they take off early morning just a few metres behind the camp.
Migration is from July to October.
