South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
South Luangwa National Park, well known as one of the best places to see magnificent leopard, is the perfect backdrop for the rustic Sanctuary Puku Ridge Camp. With romantic verandas and tents overlooking the floodplains, we love that this camp is clearly inspired by its unspoilt surroundings.
With only seven en-suite tents, your stay here will be intimate and exclusive. Each canvas tent has a wraparound veranda offering phenomenal views of the never ending plains, as well as picture windows to create an airy feel.
The main areas are just as natural and idyllic, including the lovely decking perfect for a romantic star-lit meal. We love the small cosy campfire, surrounded by seats hanging from large, gnarled trees, and the central lounge area reminiscent of a country farmhouse.
In between relaxing in your rural tent, the surrounding landscapes are abundant in incredible wildlife – so much so, that this park is one of our favourite places to spot leopard, elephant and lion. You’ll even see a myriad of impressive endemic species, including Thornicroft's giraffe and Crawshay's zebra.
