Sanctuary Swala Camp

Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

Hidden under giant acacia and baobab trees, Sanctuary Swala Camp is a secluded camp nestled within the wildlife abundant Tarangire National Park. We love the rustic vibe here, and the charming experience of feeling like the only people for miles.

There are 12 canvas tents altogether, all perched on raised platforms and providing guests with crisp and luxurious interiors. The drop-down windows are perfect for watching the world go by whilst cuddled up in your plush king size or twin bed.

The main areas sit underneath a humungous ancient baobab tree, the dining and lounge pavilion both connected by an extensive decking area ideal for relaxing under the stars. Both the lounge and dining areas are open-air with traditional thatched roofs, overlooking the grassy savannah that seems to never end.

We love the pool area – relax here and you’re likely to see incredible wildlife wandering to the nearby water hole for a drink, which is an incredible experience. Swala Camp truly aims to get you back to nature with its brilliant bush dinners and picnics, and with plenty of elephant, leopard and wild dog in the park, your game drives will certainly be lively. The camp even offers exciting walking safaris – which is unique for Tanzanian properties.
