The Oberoi

Mauritius

Nestled within 20 acres of luscious, subtropical gardens just 15km from Port Louis, The Oberoi is truly stunning. With perhaps some of the most luxuriously tranquil and private villas in Mauritius, you’ll feel pampered and rejuvenated after a stay here. You’re always just steps away from the beautiful Turtle Bay too, a gorgeous natural marine park surrounded by colourful coral reefs, and every day there’s a dramatic sunset that sets across the 600m of white sand beach.

The villas here are simply phenomenal. Apart from the Luxury Pavilions, all of the villas have their own walled garden, adorned with tropical flora and looking out onto the sandy beach. The Luxury Villa with Garden offer a gorgeous al fresco dining pavilion, whilst the Two Bedroom Luxury Villa with Private Pool offers two bedrooms and a living room all in separate thatched buildings within the walled garden, plus two dining pavilions and a lovely pool. The Premier Villa with Private Pool has a wonderful beachfront location, again with a private pool and dining pavilion, whilst the Presidential Villa also features another small villa housing two extra people. The Royal Villa has unsurpassed views of Turtle Bay from its master bedroom, again featuring a dining pavilion and private pool, whilst the Three Bedroom Royal Villa is perfect for large families, featuring a private pool, a dining pavilion for eight, a master bedroom, and two adjoining Luxury Pavilions.

The landscapes that surround The Oberoi are full of wonder. Take a walk through the tropical gardens and you’ll find four national monuments that date back to the fascinating French Colonial period. This luxury hotel has your wellbeing in mind too, including the Touching Senses programme filled with daily complimentary activities, including sculpture classes, nature walks and jogging. Families will love the Kids Club: The Hub, and there’s plenty of water sports too. Fancy truly relaxing? Wander along to the soothing spa.

Though most villas come with a private dining pavilion, we think the restaurants here shouldn’t go amiss. We love the chilled vibe at The Restaurant, or for a unique dining experience head to On The Rocks – perched on dark volcanic rocks, you can almost dip your toes in the water as you dine on fresh seafood. The Gunpowder Room is fantastic too – dating back to French Colonial times and adorned with rustic décor and antique wine barrels, this great restaurant offers Mauritian cuisine five days a week.
