Home to some of the most welcoming people we’ve met, Kenya’s coastline towns and beaches are the perfect remedy after an exhausting safari.

Though Kenya is mostly known for its wonderful safaris, the country certainly has all the vital ingredients for a relaxing and memorable beach holiday. Pearly white sands, swaying palms and crystal clear waters create a picture perfect backdrop, whilst the harmonious blend of water sports, sun bathing spots and fresh seafood create a great balance of activity and relaxation.

Incredible Reefs to Explore

Some of our favourite scuba diving moments have taken place along Kenya’s reefs. Effortlessly rivalling the Great Barrier Reef, Kenya’s waters are abundant in impressive marine life, from schools of vividly coloured fish to fascinating coral and sea urchins - Watamu Marine National Park even offers sightings of whale sharks, rays and octopus.

Kenya’s beaches never fail to take our breath away, and if we could spend every day resting along the shore, we certainly would. From the Diani and Shelley beaches in the south, to the Nyali, Maburi and Shanzu beaches in the north, wherever you look you’ll be met with the rejuvenating sight of calm waves and towering palm trees.

Though soaking up the sun is much needed after a safari, sometimes we still get the itch of wanting to explore new places. Thankfully Kenya’s coastal towns are abundant in rich heritage. The Old Town in Mombasa is full of incredible architecture and a myriad of cultures, whilst Fort Jesus’ 16th century Portuguese legacy is potent and fascinating.
