Welcome to paradise at andBeyond Benguerra Island, a beautiful beachside retreat nestled on the second biggest island of the Bazaruto Archipelago. We love the quaintness of the small thatched roof suites, and with a protected marine conservation area just steps away, we’re sure you’ll fall in love.
Hidden by palm trees and yet still offering panoramic ocean views, the 10 charming casinhas and two cabanas are truly idyllic. Clearly inspired by its surroundings, the décor is light and airy, and we love the little extra touches including a cosy four-poster bed and coloured hand-painted tiles in the outdoor shower.
There is also the Casa Familia. Ideal for large families, this large house features three en-suite bedrooms and a private swimming pool.
If you fancy a break from soaking up the sun on the sugary sands, a deep lagoon unaffected by tides lays just a few steps away, perfect for a leisurely swim or snorkel. This is one of our favourite spots to dive, especially as it’s the only spot in Africa where you’ll see rare, majestic dugong.
After a day of lazing by the main swimming pool, the large decking areas offer the perfect place for an alfresco star-lit meal, whilst a traditional wooden dhow resting on the sands is now a cool bar serving ice cold cocktails.
