Tucked away on its own private island of the same name, North Island provokes a wonderful sense of barefoot luxury, where the days are spent at your own leisurely pace, and the only soundtrack is that of the waves lapping on the shore and the soft swaying of palm trees.
There are 11 villas altogether, all nestled away in the trees yet still only steps away from the ocean. Handcrafted by Seychellois and African craftsmen with local stone, wood and glass, all of the villas have two bedrooms – one master bedroom, and one bedroom-come-lounge, entertainment room and study. Villas 1 to 10 are perched amongst the luscious trees, whilst the Villa North Island is elevated above the beach and tucked away in the takamaka forest – perfect for a secluded honeymoon.
The island itself has four beaches, one for each season, and the villas are found on the East Beach. North Island Sunset Bar, on the other hand, is nestled on the end of the West Beach, offering gorgeous ocean views and delicious cocktails from its rustic seating areas. The Piazza is ideal for a romantic meal for two, serving up decadent cuisine in an ambient, candlelit setting, whilst the kooky West Beach Bar serves up a mean menu of fresh pizza and tapas-style BBQ snacks.
There’s plenty to do on this little, isolated island. Pamper yourself with a personalised treatment at the North Island spa, or hop on one of the island bicycles and explore the lush forest. The private sunset cruises are wonderfully romantic, and there’s even ample opportunity to enjoy unlimited scuba diving and snorkelling. The island is your oyster here.
