Nestled just off the northeast coast of Zanzibar, there’s only 20 guests staying here at one time, so you’ll enjoy a truly remote and tranquil experience just steps away from the vibrant Mnemba Atoll.
The 10 palm-frond bandas overlook the azure waters, only footsteps away from the warm, powdery white sands. The décor here is luxurious yet unpretentious, opting for an airy feel with traditional wood carved furnishings and a soft, light colour palette. We love the ‘barazas’ (Swahili for ‘meeting place’) that are spread out onto the private outdoor verandas – it’s such a peaceful place to unwind and listen to the waves lap on the shore.
The main lodge area is just as tranquil, with open thatched dining and sitting areas offering a comfy spot to sip a G&T and watch the beautiful sunset. The food is deliciously fresh too, served on wooden carved platters whilst sitting on the pristine sand beach. It’s easy to completely unwind here, enjoying an exclusive experience apart from the curious suni antelopes who regularly make an appearance.
Your days here can be as active or as relaxed as you wish. There are a variety of unforgettable diving sites around the island that you won’t want to miss, and there’s two diving boats that will take you out a little further to sea. The snorkelling, swimming and kayaking opportunities are worthwhile too, or you could simply lie on the sand and soak up the sun.
