Built in 1904 and redecorated in 2013, this luxury hotel is Zimbabwe’s oldest, and perhaps also the most opulent. The beautiful décor gives a gentle nod to the sophisticated era in which it was created, with 161 glamorous suites, decadent restaurants, and luxury amenities.
The rooms and suites here consists of 64 Standard Rooms, 42 Deluxe Rooms, 46 Central Deluxe Rooms, 42 Stables Signature Wing Rooms, two Honeymoon Suites, two Executive Suites, and two Deluxe Suites. Those with small families will love the Stables Signature Wing Rooms, located in their own stand-alone wing and featuring their own courtyard, private lounge, and direct access to the front lawns.
In between resting in your Edwardian style room and visiting the incredible Victoria Falls, the hotel has a collection of restaurants and cafes to dine and unwind in. Stanley’s Terrace is perfect for a light meal and offers pretty views of the Victoria Falls Bridge, whilst Jungle Junction’s breakfast and dinner buffets are paired with fantastic entertainment shows.
The Livingstone Room is the most indulgent with its Edwardian décor and divine a la carte and table d’hote menus, and the Poolside restaurant is the ideal place to chill whilst sipping on cocktails and filling up on barbeque food. In the evening, saunter along to Stanley’s Bar, a cosy bar for only 12 guests at a time, where you can chat amongst other travellers with a signature cocktail.
