Doro Nawas

Damaraland, Namibia

Aba-Huab River Valley is a breath-taking area of never-ending arid plains, and the luxurious Doro Nawas camp truly embodies this sense of unspoilt beauty. We love that this camp gets back to basics when it comes to enjoying Africa’s natural beauty, yet still offers luxurious creature comforts.

Though luxurious, the 16 tents still offer that rustic safari vibe we can’t get enough of. With thatched roofs and a mix of stone and canvas walls, you’ll certainly feel at one with nature. Our favourite part is the expansive verandas, where you can pull out the double bed and sleep under the stars – it really is blissful. There is also a family room with two bedrooms.

The main area also adopts a charming African style. The lounge area is cosy thanks to its sofas and roaring fireplace, whilst the airy open dining area is perfect for an al fresco dinner. We love the flat roof too, where you can relax with a sundowner or spend the evening stargazing.

The surrounding landscapes are full of cultural and geological wonders, including the incredible Twyfelfontein San rock art engravings, and elusive animals such as desert-adapted elephant and bat-eared fox. With solar power lights, no WiFi, and untouched surroundings, this is your chance to experience the authentic Africa.
