Standing over a floodlit waterhole, this is a classic tented camp set in the private Onguma Reserve. You’re fully immersed in the wild, listening to evocative evening calls and waking to animals roving around the unfenced camp grounds.
The seven tented suites are simple yet spacious and we’d recommend them for visitors who prefer the no-thrills approach to safari. Rather than ostentatious extras, these suites are tailored to ensure you feel at home; they come with a free-standing bath and a great outdoor shower.
Safari never stops here and we love lounging on a private verandah, watching animals patiently wait for their turn at the waterhole. You’re not close to nature; you’re in the nature, admiring everything from elephants to rhinos to antelopes. We can’t get enough of how the accommodation and activities offer a heightened intimacy with the wild.
The set safari schedule takes you closer. Take a morning game drive in Etosha National Park, then explore Onguma Reserve on afternoon and nighttime game drives. Two nights is perfect for soaking up the atmosphere and the charming surroundings, which really comes alive with animal activity during the evenings.
