Amanzi Camp

Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia

Relaxing on Amanzi Camp’s sun deck whilst overlooking the lower Zambezi River is one of the most serene moments we’ve ever felt in Africa. Rustic and charming, there’s an idyllic sense of calmness and tranquillity at this luxurious tented camp.

With only seven tents altogether, you’ll feel as if you’ve found a secret hideaway, with each tent hidden under towering trees. The tents have a romantic ambience thanks to the billowing ceilings and floor to ceiling picture windows that look out onto the river, and the modern furnishings and curtains add a lavish touch.

Perched on the banks of Ngwenya Channel, the teak sun deck is perfect for watching the sun set over the rolling plains. With Amanzi meaning ‘water’ in Indebele, the main swimming pool harmoniously blends with the peaceful river only a few mere steps away.

This camp was once the chosen Governor’s retreat in the British Colony, and is now rich is fascinating history, and host to a myriad of activities. From fishing and canoe safaris, to classic walking safaris and night drives, there’s plenty to do at this rustic camp.
