Sindabezi Island Camp

Livingstone, Zambia

Sindabezi Island Camp is certainly one of our more unique properties – a luxury retreat that resides on its own private isle right in the middle of the Zambezi River. With five charming chalets, a sugary white sand beach, and wicked views of Africa’s wildlife grazing by the river, a stay here is nothing short of spectacular.

All of the open-fronted chalets adopt a characterful, explorer style vibe, with solar power heating and inviting, natural colours. Chalet One is nestled on the south of the island, offering a sweeping view of the river where plenty of magnificent impala, elephant and wildebeest come to quench their thirst, whilst Chalets Two and Three are found in the north of the island, offering the perfect spot for a small family.

Chalet Four’s picturesque view upstream makes it one of our favourites – nothing could be better than waking up in your canopied bed in the morning to see hippo grazing by the banks. Meanwhile, loved up couples will relish the Honeymoon Chalet’s secluded location, plus its romantic, ambient lighting and claw footed bath perfect for two to relax and watch the animals roam together.

As for the main house, there are plenty of trendy viewing decks for you to settle down for an afternoon of chilling, whilst the lounge area is very welcoming and warming with its cosy seating and ambient lights. When the day turns to night and your stomach starts rumbling, you can choose to dine with others under the moonlight, or simply enjoy a meal for two in the comfort of your chalet. You could even enjoy a river dinner on a floating Sampan – what could be more romantic?

The intimate and bespoke feel to this lodge doesn’t stop with the chalets. There are plenty of exciting activities to enjoy, and you’re free to tailor make your day to your liking. From a tasty picnic on the beach and a dreamy sunset cruise, to exciting game drives in the nearby Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and trips to Victoria Falls – no two days are the same here.
