Kuyenda Bush Camp
South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
Though a simplistic camp, Kuyenda Bush Camp truly evokes the essence of a classic African safari, oozing authentic charm and a dynamic back-to-bush atmosphere. Perched by the Manzi River in the remote southern part of South Luangwa National park, this gorgeous camp offers a front row view to the wonders of the African wilderness.
The managers here, including the renowned safari guide Phil Berry, are incredibly friendly, offering a warm and welcoming vibe that can be felt throughout the whole camp. Though Phil isn’t always in camp, we’d certainly recommend checking when you make your reservation – a walking safari with the man himself in an incredible experience you won’t want to miss out on.
Your stay here will feel intimate and personalised too, thanks to the camp only having four chalets altogether. All of the chalets have rustic thatched roofs and woven grass walls, with clear canvas windows that look out onto the endless plains. We love that the interiors adopt a very classic and minimalist safari feel, yet with the added charm of faux animal print cushions.
A little grass hut with open walls holds the cosy lounge area, with lots of comfy seating and a calm, peaceful atmosphere, whilst the dining area consists of a large table perfect for social dinners and swapping exciting game drive stories with other guests.
