Leroo La Tau
Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Botswana
Perched above the Boteti River, with glorious views over the western Makgadikgadi Pans, this luxury lodge provides a serene escape from the world. You’re lost in the enormity of Botswana, appreciating every colourful bird and each enchanting scene by the water.
Accommodation is well appointed, with 12 king-sized chalets raised on wooden platforms. The floor-to-ceiling glass frontage is ideal for gazing over the river and there’s also a small pool with sun loungers. It’s the sort of place you come to recharge the batteries, a place that captivates with its remote location and charming resident wildlife.
Animals congregate around the Boteti River, especially migratory herds of zebra and wildebeest that arrive every June. This marks the start of the dry season and the highest concentrations of big game. Game drives take you closer and the wildlife experience is more about intimacy and diversity than spotting massive numbers of animals.
We really enjoy the diversity and flexibility of the daily program. During the day, enthusiastic guides have you exploring the Makgadikgadi Pans on game drives and boat cruises. Visits to local villages can be arranged and you can pre-book a day trip to the shimmering whiteness of the Nxai Pan. After dark, Leroo La Tau has it’s own private concession, a great place to continue the immersion in wild Africa.
