Baker's Lodge
Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda
Baker’s Lodge is without doubt our favourite place to stay in the Murchison Falls National Park due to its location, ambience and excellent management and personal service ethic.
Located on the southern banks of the Nile, this lodge has impressive views of the fast flowing water that leads onto the main area of the national park.
Each of the eight luxuriously appointed tents has direct views of the Nile where you can sit on your large open veranda in the afternoon watching the sun setting whilst listening to the sounds of the wildlife. The tents are fully framed by a solid structure providing a large private bathroom area and high celings with a cooling ceiling fan for those warmer nights.
The Lodge itself is very impressive and completely solid. The bar and restaurant area is on a raised platform giving elevated views to the river with the side facing the water being very open to allow for the spectacular views. There is a small pool set back from the river for those who want to cool off after a game drive.
For extra excitement, we recommend you sit around the firepit listening to the hippos just a short distance away at the waters edge as they prepare for their evening feasting. Don’t be alarmed if you hear munching close by in the night as the juicy grass in the gardens seem particularly appealing.
The lodge is only a 10 minute drive to get to the ferry to crossing for the game viewing in the northern section of the park. The ferry itself takes only 5 minutes to cross.
