Primate Lodge

Kibale National Park, Uganda

Primate lodge is located in the most perfect spot for chimp trekking in Kibale, just 2 minutes walk from the chimp trekking station.

However, it is much more basic than the other properties we feature for the exploration of this area, so comfort would be given up for the convenience of a great location and a later start and earlier finish to your day.

The main lodge building is stone constructed and is open on one side facing the car park.  Sounds a bit odd, and frankly it is, but once the sun goes down you cannot see to the car park and the lighting simply illuminates the gardens and you forget the safari vehicles are even there.  The bar area is quite small but there is plenty of room in the restaurant to take your time over a well prepared evening meal.

There are a variety of rooms, but we can only recommend the deluxe rooms.

The deluxe rooms are set into the forest where the paths are frequented by forest elephants so excitedly you will need to be escorted to and from your rooms.  The rooms are privately tucked away in the forest and are extremely large.  There are double or twin beds and a seating area and plenty of space for suitcases and luggage.  There is a very large bathroom and semi open shower.  The terrace outside has a polished wooden floor as does the room itself lifting the feel of the room.
