Paraa Safari Lodge
Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda
Paraa is very conveniently located on the northern banks of the Nile, making it the ideal base for exploring Murchison Falls National Park.
Being on this side of the banks means that in the morning you can head straight out on your game drive without having to cross the river, giving you a head start on other guests in the area. It also means that you can stay out slightly later as you don’t have to catch the last ferry home.
The lodge itself is quite large and has more of a hotel feel about it. The accommodation is set in two wings, one hosts the standard rooms and one deluxe. There is no great difference in the rooms themselves except the deluxe have air-conditioning whereas the standard rooms only have a ceiling fan, so will get quite hot at certain times of year.
The main facilities are set in between the room wings and consist of a large restaurant and a bar. In front of the hotel is an impressive sized pool that is surrounded by a pool deck and a terrace overlooking the Nile.
