Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

Tucked away deep in the luscious forest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp offers a remote hideaway where majestic gorillas lurk, and incredible once-in-a-lifetime moments happen. We love just how magical a stay here can be.

There are only eight tents altogether, creating an intimate and exclusive feel. All of the tents feature wooden floors, a thatch roof and canvas walls, whilst the two queen beds and spacious bathtub look out over phenomenal views of the forest.

The main thatched cottage is wonderful, and we love the open-air lounge and dining area that overlooks the never-ending forest-clad plains. The area is beautifully atmospheric, and the luscious forest that surrounds the area will make you feel like the only people for miles.

In fact, the remoteness of this camp means you will be – though sometimes you’ll find a gorilla family curiously roaming their way around the camp. Seeing wild gorillas is a spectacular experience, and Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is one of our favourites for enjoying incredible gorilla treks.

After a day spent meeting these impressive creatures, head back to camp and enjoy a star-lit celebratory drink by the campfire, swapping stories with other travellers and toasting a unique trip in Africa.
