Mihingo Lodge

Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda

Set on a rocky kopje, this very nice lodge enjoys the vistas of the plains below and the watering hole with its constant visitors within easy watching with the naked eye. Set right on the edge of the park means that you will be inside the gates with in minutes of leaving camp.

The main lodge is quite large, but feels really cosy the way it's cleverly designed to separate the bar with a cosy seating area from the rustic dining area. It’s a credit to the family who designed and built the lodge and still own and operate it.

The tents are extremely large and host double or twin beds. There is plenty of room for luggage and unpacking. The bathrooms are extremely large and solid built to adjoin the tents hosting a walk in shower and loo with a view. There is a large raised wooden deck at the front of the tents.

There is a small pool set into the boulders by the main lodge building, ideal for a dip to cool down in the heat of the day.

The property is set in amongst the boulders so there are a lot of steps to each of the tents so not ideal for anyone with walking difficulties, although one or two tents are closer and more convenient.
