Chada Katavi Camp

Katavi National Park, Tanzania

First built 20 years ago, Chada Katavi Camp fills us with nostalgia of past pioneering days with its classic exterior and focus on creating an into-the-wild experience. The original camp of Katavi, we love the intimacy this camp provokes, despite being nestled within acres of wide open landscapes.

There are only six tents altogether, all open-front to give you the most spectacular views of Katavi, and the incredible big game that reside here. We love that the tents completely blend into their surroundings – you’ll struggle to see them from the air – which means that this camp is perfect for those who truly want to immerse themselves in the wilderness.

The camp is simplistic yet stylish, providing class and comfort yet still making sure the camp is environmentally friendly. The library and dining tents are perfect to while away an afternoon, whilst the waterholes in the drier months are always adorned with a myriad of wildlife including elephant, crocodile, hippo and leopard.

We’re passionate about creating classic safari experiences, and Chada Katavi is one of our favourite places to do so.
