Manyara Ranch Conservancy
Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
Expertly located in the wildlife corridor between the Lake Manyara and Tarangire ecosystems, this small tented camp is set upon a large former cattle ranch. Wildlife roams freely, with zebra and buffalo among the sights as you gaze out from the large canvas tents.
Each of the six tents has its own private deck, ideal for taking in the dramatic, panoramic views. There’s also a hot shower and flushing toilet, plus electricity in the tents. We like the simplicity of the accommodation, which creates an authentic atmosphere in an area that’s always been rich with wildlife.
Manyara Ranch Conservancy is located in the Kwakuchinja wildlife corridor and is ideal for visiting a variety of parks. We’d recommend two or three nights, which would give you a full day in both Lake Manyara and Tarangire national parks, then some serene evenings amidst iconic savannah landscapes. Options for guided walking safaris and nighttime drives add another layer of intimacy.
With its classic safari-style tents, this small tented camp provides a great introduction to the Tanzanian experience. Expect to see hundreds of elephants, the world’s largest baboon population, plus lions climbing trees and a wonderful array of ungulates. A range of packages are available so the ranch works equally well for those on a fly-in or overland safari.
Children aged 3 – 12 years are free of charge when sharing a tent with adults. The camp’s location is ideal for a varied family safari experience.
