Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge

Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania

The spacious cottages at Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge feel like a home away from home. Wooden floors and beamed ceilings enclose a massive bedroom, dressing room, lavish bathroom, and lounge with armchairs around a fireplace. But then you step onto the private verandah and realise that you’re not at home, you’re gazing out over the tropical valleys of Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Each of the individually decorated cottages measures 130 square metres and you can tell that it’s been recently renovated. From the iPod docks to consistent WiFi and fluffy bathrobes, this is a five-star hotel experience in an area packed with wildlife. A circular swimming pool overlooks the valley and the on-site spa has plenty of indulgent treatments. You also might be sipping cocktails in the bar as reedbuck graze on the lawns below.

We’d usually recommend a two-night stay, which allows for a full day safari in Ngorongoro Crater with your guide. This lodge is just a couple of minutes from the park gate, ensuring you can see the crater floor in the magical dawn light.

After the safari adventure, we love the serene atmosphere this lodge has created. Sit back, savour the views, and recount your experience in the famous crater. Then look down to see a bushbuck or zebra wandering past.

The lodge can offer an evening childminding service for a small additional cost.
