Kichaka Safari Camp

Ruaha National Park, Tanzania

Offering an outstanding wilderness experience, this small exclusive-use tented camp is one of the best in Africa for walking safaris. Moving across untouched areas of Ruaha National Park, it allows you to see the wild from a fresh and exciting perspective.

Much like Ruaha’s elephants, this camp moves with the water. Such a flexible approach ensures you’re always staying in area that is very rich in wildlife. Buffalos meeting lions, giraffe wandering with zebra, antelopes grazing beside the canvas...with Kichaka Safari Camp you’re right amongst all the charms of Ruaha.

This camp is booked on an exclusive-use basis and can accommodate two to six guests. As such it’s incredibly intimate, especially when an elephant is just a few metres away. The walk-in tents have a large double bed and are positioned for fantastic views. A bucket shower and short-drop toilet are positioned nearby. Meals are cooked in an open-air kitchen and there’s a large lounge tent with lots of comfy furniture. In a way, it’s a back-to-basics style of safari camping but you’ll certainly have enough comforts for a short stay.

It’s always a pleasure to stay here. While it’s a simple camp at heart, we really like the attention to detail and can’t fault the cleanliness and service. And if you want to see raw untrammelled Africa then this is a fabulous to come.
