Singita Mara River Tented Camp

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Nestled on the northern bank of the Mara River in the Lamai triangle of Serengeti National Park, Singita Mara River Tented Camp offers a luxurious stay within some of Tanzania’s most beautiful unspoilt landscapes.

There’s something so inviting about the fact that this camp is purely run on solar power, built to reduce the impact on the environment and create a great off the grid ambience. The open wooden veranda is welcoming too, with a gorgeous plunge pool and incredible views of the river; meanwhile the main lounge area offers a chilled space with its contemporary indoor and outdoor seating areas.

There are six tents nestled by the river, two of which are family tents with two bedroom areas. Each tent features a crisp white double bed and dark wood furnishings, as well as an expansive deck for leisurely al fresco dining.

We love that much of this camp was designed by contemporary African craftsmen – it really gives an authentic, chic feel to the place. From tree-trunk tables and shelves reminiscent of old suitcases, to funky African sculptures, artwork and trendy furniture, the camp beautifully merges traditional African décor with more modern influences.

Serengeti Migration viewing is from July – October.
