Sitting within the verdant Winelands countryside, Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa is utterly charming and scenic. Sweeping vineyards, soaring forest-clad mountains and large shady trees frame the hotel, making it one of our most picturesque properties.
With rustic thatched roofs and grand yet pretty architecture, the hotel adopts an elegant and sophisticated vibe. This transfers into the gorgeous room interiors, with warm gold or soothing grey hues, large beds, and a cosy atmosphere. The Standard Rooms feature the usual amenities, whilst the Family Rooms have a comfy en-suite bedroom and a loft area with two single beds. The Deluxe Rooms and Suites have gorgeous balconies overlooking the naturally beautiful surroundings, and the suites also feature a small indoor seating area.
There are also a few stand-alone villas, including two two-bedroom Lavish Villas, eight one-bedroom Single Villas, and eight two-bedroom Double Villas. They all feature their own kitchenette, lounge area and picturesque patio, and though they’re self-catering, villa guests will still have access to the hotel’s restaurants and facilities.
These facilities include tennis courts for those looking for a bit of activity, and a gorgeous pool perfect for those just hoping to lap up the sun. Nestled within the small town of Franschhoek, there are plenty of wonderful excursions nearby to enjoy too, from horse riding and hiking, to wine tasting tours and the serene Camelot Spa.
The restaurants are clearly inspired by the luxuriant landscapes, not just in terms of food, but in décor too. Le Verger is sat within a glass house, the glass ceiling allowing natural light to flood through and light up the open-plan kitchen and dining area – an ideal setting for sipping some of the best wines in the region. Dish is gorgeous too, offering fine dining and exquisite wines with spectacular views of the sprawling vineyards. For breakfast, La Pavillion offers a very hearty start to the day, enjoyed either in the spacious restaurant, or outside under a shady tree.
