Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, South Africa
Being out in the wilderness doesn’t mean you need to skimp out on style – a philosophy that Ecca Lodge certainly takes to heart. Hidden in Kwande Private Game Reserve’s bush, this is a contemporary, laid back lodge that offers a truly trendy retreat.
We love the colourful vibe each of the six suites evokes. Individually decorated in different colours, all of the suites are incredibly chic, with floor to ceiling glass doors and windows creating an airy and spacious feel. If that wasn’t enough, the wraparound decks and private plunge pools offer wicked views of the Acacia adorned valley, and the daybeds can be turned into a bed for young children.
Though very modern, Ecca Lodge is clearly inspired by its natural surroundings, offering a wide range of lounging and dining spots all with varying views of the endless tree-shrouded plains. We love to dine by the lodge swimming pool, the lanterns giving a warm and romantic glow, or tucking into afternoon tea under a shady tree.
We would recommend this lodge for those who are young at heart, whether that be a couple on a romantic break, or a family looking for creature comforts out in the wild. There’s even a children’s play centre for when mum and dad fancy a quiet dip in the pool.
