Singita Boulder's Lodge

Kruger National Park, South Africa

Raw and stripped back, Singita Boulders Lodge nestled in the private Singita Sabi Sands game reserve takes you back to basics, creating an oasis that truly embodies Africa’s natural beauty, yet still offers a sense of luxury.

Inspired by a boulder buttress, the main mess area is adorned with intricate stone layered walls, with African sculptures and beautiful black woven seats adding to the natural charm. The dining area is in a sleek, cave-like lodge, with cool statues hidden in the walls, as well as chic furnishings that create a modern feel.

The 12 suites - including two family suites with an extra bedroom area - ooze more of a country-style feel, with exposed brick walls both above the fireplace and in the en-suite bathroom. Each of the suites feature a four poster bed, furniture and sculptures made from rustic wood, large glass windows and a spacious outdoor veranda with a gorgeous plunge pool.

One of our favourite spots for relaxing and watching wildlife graze by the river is the main terrace, which sweeps out from the forest-clad hill and is embellished with twisting tree trunks, lush plants and magnificent boulders. The bar is fantastic too – it’s the perfect place to socialise with others and talk about the many majestic leopards that regularly roam the Sabi Sands terrain.

Sitting by the Sand River, this is a wonderful lodge to visit should you fancy finding a beacon of luxury right in the middle of the African wilderness.
