Eagles Crag

Shamwari Private Game Reserve, South Africa

This is certainly one our most luxurious lodges in the wonderful Shamwari Game Reserve. Head here and you’ll enjoy the utmost privacy and seclusion – you’ll feel like the only people in the world as you take in the uninterrupted views of the soaring rock faces and endless plains.

All of the nine suites – including seven with a king bed and two with twin beds – are modern and comforting, with contemporary décor, expansive decking adorned with a plunge pool and rustic thatched roofs. Each suite has luxurious creature comforts to ensure a truly comfortable stay, including a mini bar, air conditioning, private deck with plunge pool and even a bird spotting scope.

We love the modern main house – Eagles Crag really evoke a sense of style and comfort. There are two main lounges, one on the first floor with a fireplace and TV, and the other upstairs with a fireplace that opens out onto a scenic terrace. Meal times are spent enjoying the outside whilst tucking in to delicious fare, whilst the relaxation retreat is perfect for revitalising with a hydro bath or a session in the steam and sauna rooms.

One of our favourite parts of Eagles Crag is the experiences on offer amidst Shamwari’s diverse landscape. From visiting big cat sanctuaries and birdwatching, to enjoying exciting game drives and pro photo safaris, there are plenty of ways to see Africa’s incredible animals.
