andBeyond Phinda Mountain Lodge

Phinda Game Reserve, South Africa

Nestled high up in the mountains in Phinda Reserve, Phinda Mountain Lodge offers the most remarkable views we’ve ever seen. With large verandas and open spaces overlooking never ending forest-clad hills, this lodge paints a backdrop you’ll never forget.

There are 24 spacious suites altogether, all boasting floor-to-ceiling glass doors, stylish and modern décor, and private plunge pools. The suites include three family cottages, consisting of two interconnecting suites – with your own private vehicle and ranger, the whole family can expect a personalised experience here.

We love the main veranda. With two levels of wooden decking adorned with romantic lanterns, you could either dine under the stars whilst looking over the luscious mountains, or simply relax on one of the outdoor sofas. The main lounge is utterly charming thanks to its cosy farmhouse vibe, and the classic boma is perfect for a unique dinner.

The activities here are diverse and extraordinary too. From visiting fascinating Zulu villages and taking part in photographic safaris, to meandering along on a river cruise and tracking black rhinos, you’ll certainly have an out of the ordinary safari experience here. There is also a lovely pool complex with state-of-the-art gym, wellness centre and yoga deck with an unforgettable view.
