Tsala Treetop Lodge

Garden Route, South Africa

Nestled high in the canopy of the Garden Route’s indigenous forest, Tsala Treetop Lodge is designed for those who value exclusivity and seclusion. It’s a dreamy hideaway and we love how the magical suites offer an elevated level of privacy. A single night will live long in the memory. But a lodge ofering such indulgence deserves a few nights of your holiday.

Indulgence is the appropriate adjective here. Mesmeric views extend from your private infinity pool and elevated wooden deck. Stylish sitting rooms feature open fires while the spacious bathrooms are amongst the best we’ve experienced in Africa. Breakfasts are an unforgettable experience, full of gourmet treats then completed with a glass of bubbly.

You probably won’t want to leave the forest canopy, such is the beauty and romance of the setting. In once sense you’re far from everything. But when you descend from your treetop suite, most of the Garden Route’s attractions and experiences are within an hour by car, from beach bliss to intrepid adventure.

There are only ten suites, along with six two-bedroomed villas. All are impeccably appointed and the level of service befits the sophistication of the accommodation. This is a true five-star property, complete with a vintage wine cellar and an ambient fine dining restaurant. It is on the expensive side, but we’ve always considered the inimitability to more than justify the price, especially for couples seeking romance.
