Singita Ebony Lodge

Kruger National Park, South Africa

Hidden in the beautiful wilderness of Singita Sabi Sands, adjacent to Kruger National Park, Ebony Lodge offers a fresh and luxurious take on a classic safari lodge. Nestled by the Sand River, this retreat provides an incredible place to watch wildlife roam before you even embark on a game drive.

The décor here is certainly unique – modern furniture is wonderfully blended with Africa’s bold heritage, including photographs, traditional paintings drawn on the walls, history books, and even sculptures and treasured pieces.

The 12 suites, two of which are family suites with two bedroom areas, are quirky yet rustic, with gorgeous African paintings adorning the walls, and trendy 1920’s explorer style furnishings. Each suite features a chic four poster bed, a modern en-suite, and a balcony fit with a private plunge pool overlooking the forest-clad hills.

The main pool is one of our favourite parts of this lodge. Hidden within the trees, you’ll feel like you’re dipping in to a natural pool, with boulders and rocks framing the outside as it juts out into the wilderness. The whole lodge certainly has a cosy al fresco feel with this charming pool and the main lodge’s ebony terrace adorned with a fire pit, endemic plants, and soft lighting.

Renowned as the ‘big cat country’, Ebony Lodge’s location in the Sabi Sands Reserve is certainly desirable, with leopard, lion and cheetah all prowling through the luscious terrain.
