Travel to the wildlife abundant Sabi Sand Game Reserve and you’ll find Lion Sand River Lodge, a luxurious lodge that adds a contemporary touch to the banks of Sabie River. With light, natural décor and charming thatched roofs, this opulent lodge is clearly inspired by its verdant surroundings.
Friendly staff and a tranquil ambience will make you feel right at home here, with ample opportunity to relax, but also with a great sense of adventure. There are 20 rooms altogether, including 12 Luxury Rooms with a lounge area, mini bar and wooden deck, six Super Luxury Rooms which are larger in size with outdoor showers, and two utterly private River Suites with beautiful views of the river. Four of the Superior Luxury Rooms are interconnecting, making them perfect for large families.
The open-plan lounge and dining area is just as trendy, adorned with ambient lanterns and offering a modern and opulent touch to traditional African safari décor. Lazing in one of the two pools is a fabulous way to while away an afternoon – we love relaxing in the water whilst watching wildlife graze by the river.
There are plenty of exciting opportunities here too, including game drives, bird watching, and delightful boma dinner under the stars. Or, if you’re exhausted from all your incredible wildlife spotting, you can simply tuck yourself into your four-poster bed and watch the world go by.
