Elewana Tortilis Camp
Amboseli National Park, Kenya
The spectacular, unrivalled views of Mount Kilimanjaro are one of the many reasons we love Tortilis Camp. Nestled on the southwest border of Amboseli National Park, this rustic yet luxurious camp offers an incredible insight into the area’s natural beauty.
The 16 tents are charming and rustic, with authentic African style décor and phenomenal views of Kilimanjaro. Nine tents feature a double bed, seven feature two twin beds, and all have a small en-suite and large terrace. There’s also a Private House and Family Tent perfect for big groups, both featuring two double bedrooms and sharing a gorgeous pool.
Settled amidst Acacia Tortilis woodland, we love the main pool that looks out onto the never-ending plains, and the lounge and dining areas made out of natural materials offer unforgettable views of the watering hole below. The camp is 100% solar powered too, lessening the camp’s environmental impact.
Sat so close to the beautiful Amboseli National Park, there’s no doubt you’ll see plenty of elephants during your stay. In fact, the guides know the elephant families well, and so this is one of our favourite places for seeing these magnificent creatures. Set in a private concession, your stay at Tortilis Camp will be exclusive and indulgent. Whether you fancy a walking safari, a night drive, or even a bush breakfast, it’s all possible at this secluded retreat.
Combine Elewana Tortilis Camp with a trip to Nairobi and a stay at Mara Intrepids Camp in the Masai Mara for a wonderful Kenyan adventure. After the excitement of a safari holiday, we'd recommend adding a week in Mombasa to revitalise and unwind - WaterLovers Beach Resort is a fantastic choice.
