Ol Donyo Lodge

Chyulu Hills National Park, Kenya

Every time you leave Ol Donyo Lodge it feels like you’re heading far off the beaten trail. Mountain biking past antelope, walking across the savannah with Masai warriors, galloping past zebra on horseback...you’re welcomed into an adventure playground that’s virtually devoid of other guests. If you’re looking for something a little different, Ol Donyo Lodge is ideal.

When you’re relaxing at the lodge there are no limit to the luxuries. The stylish suites offer stupendous views and a scent of indulgence. Each has a private plunge pool, rooftop sundowner terrace with mosquito-net-protected star bed, and a delightful bathroom that always has us swooning.

The elegant design is complemented by outstanding food and a whole host of chic surprises. What we love most of all is the balance between the sense of adventure and the serene atmosphere. Every program is individually tailored, allowing you to explore the natural playground in your own way.

Top of our list would be horse riding and the lodge has a stable of expertly trained horses. Mountain biking and walking with Masai guides is a great way to explore Chyulu Hills, while traditional game drives are always a relaxed affair. The surroundings don’t have that much big game but there is plenty of wildlife to see and we’re always impressed by how close you can get. This makes Ol Donyo Lodge the perfect compliment to a stop in one of Kenya’s more famous destinations.
