Angama Mara

Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya

Named after the Swahili word for ‘suspended in mid-air’, we quickly fell in love with Angama Mara’s incredible tents nestled high above the Great Rift Valley. Consisting of two camps with 15 tents each, this luxurious property is perfect for an ultra-special safari experience.

Three of the walls in each tent might be canvas, but you’ll absolutely love the glass floor-to-ceiling wall at the front, offering the most wonderful views of the Masai Mara plains. There’s simply nothing better than waking up to see the whole world alight with yellows and oranges as the sun rises. Inside, each tent adopts a minimalist yet modern vibe, which contrasts beautifully with the colourful African textiles.

Should you fancy mingling with other guests and toasting to beautiful days in the Masai Mara, The Pavilion located in between both camps is certainly ideal. With glass walls and expansive verandas, this main area will take your breath away. The architecture is dramatic and unique, with a lovely open-plan room where the lounging area, dining area and bar are merged into one large space. There’s even a gorgeous pool and fitness room.

If that hasn’t quite enticed you enough, Angama Mara is host to some spectacular activities. From soaring above the plains in a hot air balloon and visiting a Maasai village, to enjoying a romantic picnic in the middle of the bush, your experience here will be quintessential and incredibly memorable.
