Kenya Walking Adventure Safari
We highly recommend this safari for anyone with an adventurous side. Many camps and lodges offer the opportunity to walk in the wild, but at Karisia we think you will agree it’s the real deal. Expert guides will take you on a trek each day carefully getting you great views by foot of the local wildlife whilst ensuring your safety.
Mix this all up of course with a luxurious stay at camps and lodges in other areas to complete your safari adventure
Nairobi
On arrival into the International airport, you will be met by us and taken to your local hotel. Catch your breath with a city overnight before you start your safari experience the next day. International flight times often make it tricky to connect to onwards journeys and it also gives you an opportunity to rest and regain your energy for the journey ahead of you
Overnight at Crown Plaza, Bed & Breakfast
Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After an early breakfast we will head off to the nearby domestic airport. You will take a short flight of around an hour up to Nanyuki where you will be met and taken by road to Ol Pejeta about 30 minutes away. Enjoy a safari drive through the park on your way to your camp on the far side of the game area.
You will enjoy early morning and evening game drives seeing a wealth of wildlife. Ol Pejeta is best known for its abundance of rhino – both black and white as it leads the way in offering a protective environment, preserving these great animals from poaching. You will also see plenty of other exiting animals with zebra, giraffe and lion to mention just a few.
This camp is very accommodating and flexible so you will be able to arrange for longer drives or visits to the conservation centre if you wish. The camp also has a hide for getting really close to any wildlife visiting the waterhole in front of the camp.

Karisia Conservancy
After an early breakfast and safari, transfer to Karisia. Its around a three-hour drive which interestingly travels through and around farmland and other conservancies. Alternatively, we can arrange a short hop on a privately chartered plane.
At Karisia there is a lot of choice for us to tailor your experience. There is a base camp as well as mobile tents for sleeping out in the wild.
We prefer sleeping in the wild. Whilst it might make your heart beat quicker just reading this and thinking about it, you absolutely will not regret your choice as it is such a thrilling experience.
So, we recommend a three day and two night trek. Some prefer the first night at base camp with a shorter local trek and then a full second day and a half third day. For full details see our Karisia Walking Safaris page. Your crew will transport your baggage, tents and all equipment needed to look after you by camel. It's such an eco friendly way to experience the wild, and whilst it has its basic edges such as short drop toilets, it is more luxurious than you can imagine and after all that exercise you will get a great night's sleep.
Your guide will steer you carefully and gracefully around the conservation area so you can see the flora and fauna up close and large mammals from a safe distance.
Two nights at Karisia Base Camp or Mobile Camp, Full Board with drinks
Masai Mara National Park
On your last morning, rise to the calling of the wild before another fantastic bush breakfast. A shorter walk on this morning will have you liaising with your vehicle for onwards transport within a couple of hours. Head to the landing strip and your flight down to the Mara.
We highly recommend one of the northern Mara conservancies as it matches so well with the rest of your itinerary. With open borders to the main National Park, the wildlife is free to wander as it wishes through this great eco system. Within the conservancy, your game viewing will be fantastic with the added benefit of very few other guests keeping your big cat viewing experience as private as possible. There is a little more freedom in these areas such as slightly later game drives, walking and also selective off roading for significant cat sightings and getting up close to the wildlife.
Game drives are generally morning and evening but can be easily tailored to your needs. We recommend on your second or third day a full day safari into the main Mara National Park taking a picnic with you just to get a wider feel for the area and to view some of the different lanscapes and different lion prides in their territories.
Three nights at Porini Lion Camp, Full Board with drinks
After three great days in Kenya's most famous National Park, you may be ready for a lay in and lazy breakfast before heading to the airstrip for your onwards flight. However, we do find most want to squeeze in one last game drive seeking out that early morning leopard before a quick breakfast and heading onwards.
You will fly back to Nairobi for your connecting flight home or alternatively we can take you onwards tailor making the next steps in your journey – either yet more wildlife or maybe relaxing on the beach on the coast in Kenya or maybe even Zanzibar?
