Governors' Camp
Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya
Immerse yourself in the African bush at Governors’ Camp, a charmingly classic camp tucked away along the banks of the Mara River. We love the traditional, nostalgic feel to this camp; it really feels like you’re deep in the wilderness.
Nestled in the heart of the Masai Mara, Governors’ Camp offers an amazing front row view of Africa’s incredible wildlife - the naturally beautiful savannah is home to spectacular birdlife, hippo and crocodile, and of course the Big Five.
There are 37 tents altogether, including family suites. All adopt the traditional bush tent vibe, with the addition of luxurious yet rustic furnishings and a lovely deck either overlooking the Mara River or the endless plains. The family suites are set slightly away from the others, these are elongated tents that can sleep up to five but each tent contains only one bathroom.
Created in 1972, this tent offers a nostalgic charm, with lovely open-air dining and lounge areas looking out onto the savannah. We love the experiences on offer at Governors’ Camp - from balloon safaris to cultural trips, you’ll find yourself truly at one with nature.
Migration viewing is from July to October.
