Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya
With a setting in the private Congreve Conservancy just outside the jaw-dropping Lake Nakuru National Park, Mbweha Camp offers pure luxury amidst some of Kenya’s most naturally beautiful landscapes. With picturesque views of the Eburu and Mau ranges, this luxury camp oozes a relaxing and charming vibe.
The 10 luxurious cottages are nestled within a forest of Candelabra Euphorbia, all built with wonderful grass thatched roofs and lava stone floors and walls. We love that every cottage is individually decorated, all adopting a hint of African charm. Each cottage features a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with an outdoor bath tub, and there are two family cottages with two bedrooms.
The public area is rustic and cosy, with comfy sofas and chairs huddled around a roaring wood-burning fireplace, whilst the camp’s delicious gourmet food can be enjoyed either in the sociable dining area, or outside underneath a shady acacia tree.
Start your day with a tea or coffee bought to your tent, before embarking on fantastic morning and afternoon game drives with the phenomenal guides. There’s even the opportunity for an exhilarating night drive, or you could while away the afternoon at the beautiful swimming pool. Our favourite past time is a game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park itself, stopping half way through the day for a sumptuous BBQ or picnic lunch.
