Mara Intrepids Camp

Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya

Standing in the centre of the Masai Mara, this luxury tented camp is perfectly situated for enjoying the great wildebeest migration from July to October. Offering luxury in the wild, the camp is enveloped by wildlife and takes you to the heart of a world-famous landscape.

Each of the 30 tented suites feel like glamorous homes under canvas. The bedrooms are furnished in a classic old-world safari style, while the bathrooms have all the necessary new-world amenities. Private verandahs offer sublime views over the plains and there’s a sense of serenity that complements the action of the grasslands.

Mara Intrepids stands over the Talek River and is just a few minutes from the Mara River, where over a million and zebra make their perilous crossing. We love listening to the drumbeat of hooves from the camp, or waking to find herds of buffalos and elephants within clear view of the tents. You’re so central that the camp offers three daily game drives, each a short exploratory journey that’s interluded by tranquil downtime at the camp. On one of your days we’d recommend the short morning bush walk to see the herds from a new angle.

Although it’s one of the largest Mara camps, each tent is expertly spaced. A discreet electric fence keeps wildlife out yet doesn’t usually interrupt your photos; capturing the wildebeest migration from a swimming pool is very special. Outside of July to October, the Mara is still filled with wildlife, so this glamorous accommodation is a good choice all year round.
