Mahali Mzuri

Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya

Created by Sir Richard Branson, you can certainly expect excellence at Mahali Mzuri. From the intriguing architecture of the 12 tents, to the incredible sweeping views of the private Olare Motorogi Conservancy, this luxury tented camp never fails to take our breath away.

Meaning ‘beautiful place’ in Swahili, the 12 tents don’t disappoint, located in the Motorogi part of the conservancy, Mahali Mzuri offers a luxurious and very private safari experince.

Each tent has unique, curved exteriors, whilst the interiors adopt a minimalist yet modern vibe and the private decking offers spectacular panoramic views of the wildlife abundant Masai Mara. There are also two family tents for four people, these are slightly larger tents which accommodate children on sofa beds.

The main tent is fabulous too, featuring a cosy lounge with a toasty fireplace perfect for a pre-dinner tipple, and an expansive decking area ideal for open-air breakfasts and lunches. We absolutely love the gourmet food experiences here – from bush BBQs to champagne picnics, we’ve had many fantastic meals amongst Kenya’s verdant savannahs.

Arguably the best part of this camp is the spectacular front row seat to the great wildebeest migration. However, even when this incredible spectacle has passed the surrounding plains are abundant in brilliant wildlife, including magnificent lion prides, elegant impala, and towering elephants. Better yet, the guides here are very friendly and knowledgeable of the bush, too.
